Four-time Grammy Award-winning cellist and composer Eugene Friesen describes Clíodhna Ní Aodáin’s For the Love of Trees as “a tribute of great beauty” and “a kind of musical map toward grounding, love, and unity.” His words point to the album’s central intention: to reconnect listeners with nature through sound.
The recording emerged from Ní Aodáin’s practice of sitting with trees and listening deeply. In forests across Ireland, Switzerland and the United States, she allowed each encounter to become music. Linden, Rowan, Redwood and the Fairie Tree each inspired pieces with distinct emotional and sonic identities.
