This 11-track project, released on April 28, 2023, is a beautiful tribute to Trinchillo’s incredible talent and lasting impact on the music industry. Marco Trinchillo, a self-taught drummer and photographer, was a founding member of the band Amycanbe, alongside fellow UBU co-founder Mattia Mercuriali. After finding success with Amycanbe, the duo founded UBU as a side project to experiment with other musicians and styles. What began as a small project quickly evolved into a global collective, bringing together artists from all walks of life.
The self-titled album, UBU, was produced over two years by UBU and Franco Naddei at ‘L’Amor Mio Non Muore’ studio in Forli, Italy between 2020 and 2021. Tragically, on the verge of completing the mixing, Marco Trinchillo passed away at the age of 41 due to cardiac arrest. The album, which features artists such as Hannah Saunders, FRNQ, Nicola Biondi, Pieralberto Valli, Hellis, Cleats, Luca Parma, Emma Perrot, Enzo Moretto, Francesca Amati, and Pieralberto Valli, is a beautiful blend of musical styles and voices. Each artist brings their unique talents to the project, creating a cohesive and heartfelt tribute to Trinchillo’s legacy.
