Dubliner Galvo is set to ignite the music scene with his debut album The HeARTist, burning brightly with his single “Getting Better” and its accompanying music video.
Hot Press have wholeheartedly praised the release, validating it as “one of the most accomplished and exciting debuts that have passed through HP Towers this year.” The album is rooted in the sonic richness of indie-folk, with wide ranging influence from artists such as Elliot Smith, Billy Corgan, Radical Face, and Sufjan Stevens.
The lead single, “Getting Better,” feels like a galvanizing battle cry lifting its listeners up, joyfully bolstered by dynamic percussion and Galvo’s emotive vocals. Part black comedy, part emotive eye-opener, the music video captures a unique story of a man cursed with tiny hands struggling to do even the simplest of tasks, until a shaman grants him monstrously large hands.

Galvo’s pursuit of self-expression and the sound of The HeARTist can be credited to his own extraordinary life experience. Born in Dublin to a working-class family raised against the backdrop of violence, he went on to run a Pakistan Hip Hop label in London and was even chosen to play a Knight on the Vale on HBO’s Game of Thrones.
