Folk band Doolin’ combines Celtic and folk influences to create new album ‘Circus Boy’. The new album is now available on all streaming services and has been made with a collection of some of the best folk french musicians.
Paving a way through the industry similar to Mumford and Sons, Doolin are following in the footsteps of some of the best folk rock groups in the industry.
The new album sees Doolin showcase their impressive musicality and talented songwriting skills through the new album. Written as a declaration of love for their region of France and hometown of Toulouse, the album is for those at home who miss them when they are away and for their many friends and newfound fans.
After touring for three years, this new album has been written over a long period of time and completed in Paris. While listening to the album, each song connects to Doolin’s unique sound and has an emotional quality to it making the album full of punch and influence.
Collaborating with producers Lude and Renson, Wilfried Besse’s vocals are supported by the driving rhythm section of Josselin Fournel (percussion), Sébastien Saunié (bass) and Nicolas Besse (guitars). The album also features Irish influence which can be evidenced through the whistles of Jacob Fournel, the bodhran of his brother, Josselin, and the nimble accordion playing of Nicolas’ brother, Wilfried. Combining sonically interesting elements and beautiful poetic lyrics, the original songs on the album combine to make a delightful collection.
