REVIEW: Baron Carta – Shards of Black
Hey booze and reviews followers, it might be a rainy Monday afternoon but not all is bad as I have some pretty awesome new music coming your way from the mega metal force that is Baron Carta, as they are gearing up to release their pretty spectacular new EP Shards of Black this Wednesday!
Who doesn’t love a mosh pit? And with Baron Carta’s own unique brand of metal they bring their full force of head-banging critique of crucial societal issues, all scored by big voices, and bigger riffs on their new compelling EP.
It’s no surprise that Baron Carta have given us such a mesmerising EP as Shards of Black assembles a killer line-up of Primal Fear, Kill 2 This, and Primal Fear alums.
Shards of Black consists of 5 hard-hitting metal tracks all completed with a perfect execution. From the get-go we are met with the fuzzy distorted lead guitar and shouty vocals of “Relanar”. It’s a grand start to the record, and we can see a lot of influences in just this track alone; it’s clear that Baron Carta have been playing this style for a long time.
Tracks such as ‘Lethality’ and ‘Ceasefire’ are so undeniably metal that it’s hard to label them as anything else and they do it justice. These tracks are definitely a high note on the record.
Be sure to check out Shards of Black when it’s out on Wednesday and check out Baron Carta’s amazing video for lead single ‘Lethality’, linked below.
